Recent activities and achievements

Project title: Shear resistance mechanisms of a range of new hybrid reinforcement FRC

Objectives: This project will investigate the shear resistance mechanisms of a range of new hybrid reinforcement FRC using both experiments and numerical FEA The objective will be develop predictive models that can be used for design purposes

Tasks and methodology: Shear transfer behaviour of SFRC by conducting “Z” push-off shear test and also simulating the model by ABAQUS.

Supervisor: Prof. Kypros Pilakoutas

Innovative Use of all Tyre Components in Concrete
Anagennisi: Innovative Use of all Tyre Components in Concrete An estimated one billion tyres are discarded each year. Post-Consumer tyre arisings for EU countries (2010) are 3.4M tonnes per year. At the moment nearly 50% of all recycled tyres/components still end up as fuel, in low grade applications or in...
