Marko Bartolac is a Post-Doctoral Teaching and Research Associate at the Structural Testing Laboratory, Dept. of Engineering Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering of The University of Zagreb (Croatia). He obtained both his MEng and PhD from The University of Zagreb (Croatia). His main research interests are in the fields of structural and material testing, structural health monitoring of civil engineering structures and fibre reinforced concrete. He is a team member of the FP7 project titled “Anagennisi: Innovative Reuse of all Tyre Components in Concrete” and is currently working on numerical modelling of punching shear in steel fibre reinforced concrete slabs.

Innovative Use of all Tyre Components in Concrete
Anagennisi: Innovative Use of all Tyre Components in Concrete An estimated one billion tyres are discarded each year. Post-Consumer tyre arisings for EU countries (2010) are 3.4M tonnes per year. At the moment nearly 50% of all recycled tyres/components still end up as fuel, in low grade applications or in...
